The Envelope Please . . . OWLA 2014 Applause Announced

As the end of the growing season approaches the OWLA Applause Awards Committee is proud to give an OWLA Applause Award (2014) to the Pearl Clark Community Garden. It has been a pleasure to watch the changes to the garden over the season and all of the hard work put in by the gardeners. Congratulations to Michael Morley, Phil Minkin, and the many families whose efforts got the garden started and growing. The community garden is a city program on city land. It took 5 months to get city approval and to get it going, but it has definitely been worth it to see it from ground breaking to full blown blooming flowers, vegetables, and herbs.

The Applause Committee is also seeking someone to help Theresa Shetler Logan with the OWLA Applause Awards, which recognize neighbors’ outstanding efforts to beautify their property and our neighborhood. If you are interested in serving, send an e-mail to OldWestLawrenceAssn, and we’ll get you connected.
