Pinckney School community meeting Oct. 4 has been postponed, but OWLA membership meeting Nov. 1 stays the same

The joint community meeting with Pinckney Neighborhood Association (PNA) and OWLA regarding changes to Pinckney School, which was announced for Oct. 4, has been postponed. Construction and design plans are slightly delayed. Organizers feel that it would be best to wait a few months until the architects and school district have more firm timelines and are able to better inform our communities. They anticipate the meeting to be rescheduled for early 2015.

Please note that the OWLA general membership meeting scheduled for Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. in the new library’s meeting room A (lower level) remains the same.

OWL Sales and Picnic, Saturday Sept. 13

Be sure your calendar is marked for OWL Day, this coming Saturday, Sept. 13!

Sales. If you are interested in hosting a sale, there’s still time to get your ad posted on our website. Check out the Garage and Art Sales tab for details. There are 9 sales so far and we welcome more. Ads can be posted to the website until Friday.

Picnic. This year we’re trying out an earlier time span: 5 – 8 p.m., so don’t be late! Same great location (7th and Mississippi) and same great food and drink. As usual, OWLA will provide burgers and dogs, and there will be tables for potluck sides and desserts.

A few more volunteers are needed to help the event run smoothly– hosts, table decorators, and the all-important clean-up crew.  Please paste this link: http://bit.ly/OWLParty to sign up.  Or you can email Richard Andrade at richard@barristerbooks.com.

In case you are wondering, city utilities staff have assured us that the work on that part of Mississippi St. will be completed by Sept. 13 – so let the party begin, and we’ll see you there!
